It’s hard to think about autumn without thinking of all the different warm drinks that go along with the season. This year we partnered with our friends at the El Mirador collective in Guatemala and with the LaRue family in Jinotega, Nicaragua to cultivate a blend that pairs perfectly with the coming season of autumnal comfort and joy.
These two coffees were meant to be paired together. They both bring notes that compliment each other as well as come from farms that are known for their quality and consistency. The La Trampa & La Plata farms in Nicaragua are part of a small coffee growing community in the hills of the Jinotega region where the elevation encourages a subtle sweetness in the coffee bean. When roasted, this coffee brings out the chocolate tones and sets stage for a low acidity cup of coffee. El Mirador, a Rainforest Alliance Certified collective of coffee farmers, brings a delicious lighter end to this blend, bringing the brighter notes to help balance out the deep chocolate tones in the Nicaraguan coffee.
As sweaters and jeans start making their way out of storage, footballs begin to fly and family comes together, it is time to seek joy from the little moments spent over a cup of coffee. Brew it up and gather round, Harvest is here to bring you closer and maybe, just maybe, caffeinate you enough to make it through alive.
Cheers to fall, cheers to you…and cheers to family gatherings.
