I returned today from almost two weeks of origin travel. While that’s always fun, I was so happy to come home. As I walked into the Factory, I was filled with the sense that “These are my people, and this is where I should be.” I get that feeling in all Stone Creek cafes. I know that feeling is shared by many of us here.
That is possible because you all are tremendous people, and you create those vibes. The environment at Stone Creek isn’t created without intentionality. When you choose to show up here every day with care for your coworkers, passion for coffee, and advocacy for the world that you seek – that dedication results in the collaborative and caring environment that we want to foster.
The small actions we take build on each other. When you treat a difficult customer with patience and respect, that makes a difference. When you listen to your coworker who sees the world differently than you do, that makes a difference. When you advocate for yourself and others with grace, that makes a difference. When you publicly celebrate the heroic actions of others, that makes a difference. When you adopt the posture of a learner, that makes a difference. When you choose to find humor in spilled coffee (shout out: Jenai E.), that makes a difference.
I’m celebrating you all today. I’m very thankful to and for you and the part each of you play here at SCC.
As I’ve said before, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you ever need anything or have any ideas for how to keep moving Stone Creek Coffee forward as a company and employer.
