CoCo Reflections from Aaron Johnson:
- This Week’s CoCo: Create Remarkable Care
- Creating remarkable care is one of my favorite commitments. I know it is also the favorite of a lot of our coworkers at SCC. To me, this is a big part of what is special about Stone Creek Coffee for our guests. It welcomes them to a place they can be a part of as well as a place they can find comfort. And so far, it seems like the possibilities are endless. When an employee goes out of their way to do something not in their job description, it shows acceptance as well as excitement for them to be part of our day. There are so many little things you can do to create remarkable experiences and care for our coworkers and guests. Opening the door for someone, helping someone to their table, grabbing empty dishes from someone’s table. It changes the experience of our guests for the better and it truly could make someone’s day. I would also like to shout-out so many people for creating remarkable care on a day to day basis. Everyone at SCC is remarkable and inspires me to grow in care. Thank you all!
- Next Week’s CoCo: Take Care of your Co-workers
- The well-known take care of your co-workers commitment is also amazing. These are a great pair of commitments this week. The commitment inspires everyone to go above and beyond for each other. Whether it is helping them with a task because you have an extra hand or picking up a shift because they’re not feeling well. Taking care of your coworkers is one of the most beneficial things you can do. It creates a positive environment that benefits everyone including yourself. For me, it is a lot easier to be relaxed and happy at work if everyone is helping each other out. It can be fun. Also, taking care of your coworkers always comes back around to them taking care of you when you need it most! I like to think, help others how you are able to, and hope to receive the same treatment in return.
CoCo Heroes:
- Create Remarkable Care: Our “Create Remarkable Care” Core Commitment Hero comes from the Downer Kitchen – Arcadia! Arcadia ensures that each customer that comes to our Kitchen window is greeted warmly. They are able to carry on warm conversations no matter what time of the day it is! Way to go Arcadia keep up the great work!
- Take Care of your Co-workers: Our “Take Care of your Co-workers” Core Commitment Hero comes from the Downer Cafe – Marie Redding! Marie is a perfect example of taking care of your co-workers because she is always looking out for the team. Whether she believes that or not, the team can always rely on her for countless items. When shifts need to be covered, Marie is always on it. When weekly and daily tasks are a bit behind, Marie is always on it. When a customer comes in and needs remarkable care, Marie is on it. Taking care of your co-workers means that you have to put in a little extra work to help out your team. For Marie, that is never an issue and Downer appreciates the care she puts into all the work she does.
