FALL IN MILWAUKEE: YOUR GUIDE TO COFFEE, CAFES, & COZY THINGS TO DO

FALL IN MILWAUKEE: YOUR GUIDE TO COFFEE, CAFES, & COZY THINGS TO DO

There’s a particular kind of magic to fall in Milwaukee. The lake gets a little moodier, the leaves start changing colors, and a walk around the neighborhood followed by a warm cup of coffee feels like an extra good idea.

Whether you’re looking for things to do in Milwaukee in the fall, planning a weekend of exploring, or simply trying to make the most of sweater weather, we’ve got a few ideas.

Consider this your coffee-fueled guide to fall in Milwaukee.

START WITH A SLOW MORNING

Fall is a pretty good excuse to take your time.

Start the day with a walk, grab your favorite coffee, and settle in somewhere comfortable. Our cafes are made for exactly this kind of morning, whether that means catching up with a friend, opening your laptop, reading a few chapters, or watching the neighborhood wake up.

Order a pour-over from our Brew Bar if you’re in the mood to pay attention to your coffee. Go for a latte if you’re after something cozy. Add a pastry or kitchen dish, because it’s fall and we don’t make the rules.

And if you’re brewing at home, this is a great time of year to try a new coffee. Our seasonal and year-round coffees give you plenty of ways to explore the roast spectrum, from bright and fruit-forward to rich and chocolatey.

MAKE A CAFE TOUR OF IT

One of the best things about Milwaukee is how different every neighborhood can feel, and our cafes are part of that neighborhood rhythm.

FACTORY CAFE

Not open just yet, but soon. Fall is bringing something new to the Factory.

After a summer remodel, our Factory Cafe is scheduled to reopen in early fall with a refreshed space inside the historic Stone Creek Coffee Factory. The Factory is where our roasting operation, bakery, newly added Kitchen, and headquarters come together, making it a pretty special place to get closer to the coffee.

Once we reopen, grab a cup, something from the Kitchen, settle in, and take a look around. Feeling curious? Join us for a Factory Tour and trace coffee’s journey from seed to cup, from green coffee storage to the roasting floor.

We can't wait to welcome you back this fall, and we think the wait will be worth it.

WHITEFISH BAY CAFE + KITCHEN

For a neighborhood day that can stretch from morning into afternoon, head to Whitefish Bay. Grab breakfast, lunch, or coffee and take your time.

Then head toward the lake. Klode Park is a beautiful spot to wander, sit, and take in Lake Michigan from the bluff.

SHOREWOOD CAFE

Start at our Shorewood Cafe with a latte, pour-over, or something baked, then head toward Atwater Park.

Perched above Lake Michigan, Atwater is especially good in the fall. Take the path toward the beach, walk along the shoreline, or find a spot up top and watch the waves for a while.

For a little more tree cover, Estabrook Park follows the Milwaukee River and offers wooded paths and plenty of places to wander or sit.

TOSA BLUEMOUND + HARWOOD

Wauwatosa has plenty of reasons to spend a fall afternoon wandering around, and coffee is a pretty good one.

Start at our Bluemound or Harwood cafes, then make your way toward Hoyt Park. With wooded trails, open green space, and the Oak Leaf Trail nearby, it’s an easy place to stretch your legs after coffee.

FIND YOUR FALL COFFEE

Fall doesn't have to mean one specific flavor profile. Maybe you're craving something rich and chocolatey, or maybe you're still reaching for bright, fruity coffees even as the temperatures start to drop. Either way, it's a good time to explore.

Our coffee lineup spans the roast spectrum, so there's always something new to discover. Try a darker roast for a deeper, more comforting cup, or reach for a lighter coffee when you want something bright and expressive. And if you're not sure where to start, ask one of our Coffee Geeks. We're always happy to talk coffee.

Once you find something you like, take it home and get to know it a little better. Pull out the V60, dust off the French press, or try it in your drip brewer. Change up your grind size, water temperature, or brew time and see what happens. You might be surprised by how much a few small adjustments can change what's in your cup.

And if your setup could use a little refresh, fall is as good an excuse as any to pick up a new brewer, filters, mug, or travel mug. Then take your coffee ritual outside for one of those crisp Milwaukee mornings that makes you glad you did.

GET OUT THERE

The best thing about fall in Milwaukee is that you don't really need a checklist.

Walk somewhere you've never walked, try a coffee you've never brewed, spend an afternoon in a neighborhood you don't usually visit, order something you've never tried, or stay for another cup.

And, of course, stop by one of our cafes along the way.

Milwaukee is our home. We're pretty lucky to experience its seasons with you, and fall might be our favorite one.

So grab your coffee and get out there. We'll see you around the neighborhood.
