What You’ll Need:

  • Coffee: 26 g freshly ground (medium-fine, like coarse sand)

  • Water: 360 g (just off the boil, 205°F / 96°C)

  • Hario V60 dripper & paper filter

  • Digital scale

1. Rinse & Prep

Place the filter in your V60 and rinse thoroughly with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat your dripper. Discard the rinse water.

2. Add Coffee

Pour 26 g of freshly ground coffee into the filter, gently shaking to level the bed.

3. Bloom (0:00–0:30)

Start your timer and pour 50 g of hot water. Excavate and stir grounds for 30 seconds.

4. Pour (0:30–1:45 to 2:30)

Slowly pour water in small, steady circles, keeping the water level consistent. Avoid pouring directly on the filter walls. Pour until you reach your total water weight of 360 g. Gently swirl coffee as it drips down, ensuring a flat surface. Let the water drain completely and gently swirl brew.

ELECTRIC BREWER GUIDE

What You’ll Need:

  • Coffee: 60 g freshly ground (medium grind, similar to coarse sand) for a full 10-cup pot

  • Water: 1 liter

  • Moccamaster Drip Brewer

  • No. 4 paper filter

1. Prepare & Rinse

Place a paper filter in the brew basket and rinse with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat the basket. Discard rinse water.

2. Add Coffee

Measure 60 g coffee for 1 liter water (adjust based on desired brew size) and add to the filter, leveling the bed.

3. Fill Water Reservoir

Fill the Moccamaster’s reservoir with fresh, filtered water up to your desired brew amount.

4. Bloom & Brew

Turn on the brewer. The Moccamaster will heat water to the optimal range and pulse it over the grounds for even extraction. Close the brew valve and allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds while spinning the brewing chamber. After 30 seconds, open the brew valve to allow for proper brewing.

5. Stir & Serve

When brewing is complete, stir the carafe gently to mix before serving for consistent flavor in each cup.
