We are excited to introduce our newest addition to the My Brew series, There and Back Again, a coffee crafted to honor the expertise and dedication of one of our own, Joe Steiner. Joe is not only a Master Barista but also a Master Educator here at Stone Creek, embodying our commitment to excellence in every cup.
This blend features carefully selected coffees from Huehuetenango, Guatemala, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, and Quindío, Colombia. Grown at elevations ranging from 1400-2200 masl, these coffees have been carefully processed using both washed and co-fermented methods to bring out their unique flavors. This coffee offers tasting notes of strawberry, honeysuckle, and Meyer lemon. The washed process contributes to the bright, clean sweetness, while the co-fermented processing adds depth and complexity, making every sip a journey of flavors.
A NOTE FROM JOE, OUR MASTER EDUCATOR:
I enjoy making, whether coffee or art, because of the creative journey. As exciting as it is to envision the end product, the most gratifying aspect is the unexpected decision-making along the way. When considering my own blend, I wanted to create a profile that would be highlighted through manual brewing methods. I enjoy the bright, floral flavors of Ethiopian coffees, and I’m excited to pair those with big, fruity flavors from Guatemala. Given the opportunity to travel to Antigua, Guatemala with Stone Creek Coffee and experience coffee at its source, it felt personal to include a coffee that embodies “There and Back Again.”
ABOUT JOE:
Joe has been an integral part of our barista and educator teams for the past six years, where he has consistently demonstrated his versatility and passion for coffee. Starting his journey at Stone Creek in our Glendale cafe, Joe later moved on to Radio Milwaukee cafe, Bay View cafe, and is now a valued member of our Factory cafe team. Joe embodies our mission statement, “Never Stop Learning,” through his continuous pursuit of knowledge. He is always eager to experiment with different brewing methods and finds joy in sharing his expertise with others, whether in training new baristas or teaching our weekend public classes. Over the years, Joe has achieved Master Barista certification and has become one of our Master Educators. Beyond his role at Stone Creek, Joe enjoys outdoor activities, watching documentaries, spelunking Wikipedia, and painting at his studio. His artwork is even featured as the design for this coffee! We are honored to have Joe as part of our team, and we invite you to experience his passion and expertise in every cup of There and Back Again.
Customer Comments
“Great coffee and great customer service.” -N.O.
“Best coffee!” -S.P.
“Your coffee is hard to describe. It doesn’t have a gimmicky flavor, just relies on the beans and roast. I usually never drink my coffee black, but have started with these roasts.” -C.M.
