No, Johnny Cash was sadly not at the farm when we sourced this coffee (#RIP). This coffee was grown in an incredibly unique geographical zone referred to as the “Ring of Fire” in Guatemala. In a cup of Ring of Fire Guatemala, you’ll taste a sweet lemonade-like acidity complemented by a pleasant, honeydew melon-like body and sweet finish.
However, the final cup isn’t just the result of proper harvest and processing. It’s a result of the terroir as well, which includes altitude. Higher altitudes, and therefore cooler temperatures, cause the plants and cherries to mature more slowly. This yields higher concentrations of sugars and acids, which present themselves clearly in a cup of Ring of Fire Guatemala.
This lot, sourced from various farmers in Guatemala, has Bourbon, Catuai, and Caturra varieties that were processed using a washed method. This coffee was light roasted to allow the coffee to speak for itself. Ring of Fire Guatemala is a great example of Guatemalan coffee done right. We’re proud to be able to share it with you.
