The foundation of this blend is a selection of Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia varieties grown in the mountainous Huila region of Colombia. Cultivated by a dedicated group of farmers who share a communal milling process, the coffee undergoes a fully washed method at the mill. This meticulous processing results in a crisp, clean flavor profile in the cup.
To complement this, we’ve paired it with a washed lot of Catuai and Caturra varieties from the Palmichal Mill in Costa Rica’s Central Valley. This mill is renowned for its commitment to supporting farmers who produce exceptional coffee, offering premium prices to producers that surpass most other mills in the country. This ethical approach not only benefits the farmers but also grants the mill access to some of Costa Rica’s finest coffee lots.
The final flourish is a washed Castillo from Jairo Arcila, co-fermented with lychee. The Arcila family’s coffee legacy spans over 80 years, and since 2015, they’ve specialized in sourcing, producing, and exporting some of Colombia’s most extraordinary specialty coffees. Known for his innovative fermentation methods, Jairo consistently crafts stunning, unique coffees. This lychee co-fermented lot is a testament to his artistry, offering a sweet, tropical twist that makes this blend truly unforgettable.
A NOTE FROM BREE:
The hearth is a timeless symbol of love, community, and life. Often found at the heart of a home, it provides light, warmth, protection, and nourishment. Similarly, solace represents comfort and consolation during times of distress—something we could all use more of. For me, few things evoke a sense of home, comfort, and love more than my pets—Loki, Soup, and Worm—who fill my life with love and joy. This same sense of warmth and connection is what drew me to the coffee industry and to Stone Creek. A cup of coffee, much like a glowing hearth, can offer a moment of comfort, warmth, and community. I hope this coffee, like a crackling fire on a chilly evening, brings you that same sense of solace and connection.
