Farm to Cup Story
Once again, we’re grateful and proud to bring you coffee from MICEPA. Microbeneficio Cerro Paraguas (MICEPA) is a small cooperative located in the remote, mountainous region of Chirripó, Brunca, in southern Costa Rica. In a cup of The Mountain, you’ll experience the body of white and black tea, a lemon citric acidity, paired with the sweetness of cherries and complexity of gooseberries.
MICEPA is a collaboration between eight families who collectively own 15 farms in the region. It is overseen by Rigoberto Araya Blanco and José Ureña Ulloa, but each of the farmers that work with the mill play an important role in its operation. Over the past six years, we have seen the coffees from MICEPA transform from great to exceptional, and this year is the best yet. This partnership is the Farm to Cup mission actualized, which is why we’ve chosen to bring this particular lot to you right off of harvest. This lot of MICEPA is special in that it was selectively chosen as the best MICEPA had to offer this year.
