Farm to Cup Story
The mission of the Long Miles Coffee Project can be summed up in three words: Coffee. People. Potential
What once was the Carlson’s dream, to see transformation come in coffee-growing communities, has slowly but surely come to fruition in Burundi. What they have been able to accomplish as a coffee community in just a few years since journeying to Burundi has been nothing short of incredible—and you can taste it. In a cup of Long Miles Burundi, you’ll experience the juiciness of white grape and citrus alongside the complexity of peach and currants.
This year, we’re proud to share that we’ve been able to join in on this journey with them, not only by purchasing their coffee once again, but by helping them build a well. Our co-owners Eric and Melissa worked with Long Miles on this project in an effort to fulfill Stone Creek’s commitment to providing an environment for people in our community and the communities we work with that promotes health, life, and dignity. The need in Burundi is great, so we have the opportunity to make a big impact in this area, even if it does appear like a drop in the bucket. Acts which appear small make massive waves of change, and we want to help make those waves.
We are honored and lucky to share coffee from these farmers that the Carlson’s work with, and we are proud to be one of the direct relationships that Long Miles Coffee has been able to facilitate. The Carlson’s and the farmers that they work with have become part of our coffee family here at Stone Creek Coffee, and we’re happy to make them part of yours, too.
