CORE COMMITMENT REFLECTION FROM MADDI CONWAY
This Week’s CoCo: Be Urgent to the Customer
Being Urgent to the customer is another way we show our care. It communicates that we respect them and their time. Over the years I’ve learned to distinguish between moving with urgency and rushing. We don’t necessarily need to be running around or feeling frantic to be urgent. Often doing so creates an anxious and unwelcoming energy. We can move with a grounded purpose knowing that our urgency is ultimately rooted in care for our customers.
Next Week’s CoCo: Never Stop Learning
When I think of what it means to Never Stop Learning, I think of my Aunt Kathy. My aunt’s motto is “if you don’t run, you rust.” While she does apply this to her running practice – she ran a marathon at 70!! She really means if you don’t keep learning, you’ll become stagnant. If she is curious about something, she will follow that curiosity despite any real or perceived barriers. During Covid, she rented a keyboard and taught herself piano. She wanted to take a trip to South America in her 60’s so she took Spanish lessons for a year before she went. And now even though she is retired, she manages a free health clinic and continues to keep learning how to serve her community. She is my hero! In honor of the Never Stop Learning spirit and my aunt’s motto my book recommendation would be “Brief Flashings in a Phenomenal World’.
