Hey Everyone! I’ve been officially back from my sabbatical for a little over a month. It’s been great to ramp up with everyone and get back to work in the business that I love.
We’re moving into November, which means it’s time for P&P reviews! Pay and performance reviews are a vital part of our growth as individuals and as a company, and they’ll be scheduled throughout the month. This is a great time for each of us to lean into the clarity, ambition, and accountability that help us grow individually and collectively. Let’s use this opportunity to focus on growth that aligns with our mission: *We are coffee geeks, who never stop learning, while creating remarkable care.* It takes all of us improving in our work to improve the company as part of the coffee industry, a member of the Milwaukee community, and as an employer.
Thank you all for your participation and feedback during our workshops last week. These three-times-a-year sessions are key to honing our skills and deepening our commitment of quality and care. It’s inspiring to see the collective energy you all bring to these workshops, which continually strengthens our ability to deliver remarkable care for everyone who interacts with Stone Creek. Let’s keep pushing and sharing our Hots or Nots as we go.
As part of shaping a Stone Creek that reflects all of us, please remember to complete the eNPS survey by November 8, 2024, Here. Your input is invaluable for helping us understand where we’re thriving and where we can improve. The eNPS is a tool to measure our collective experience and ensure that our growth reflects the spirit and vision we all share.
As we get set for 2025, I just wanted to remind everyone of a couple of things.
- We’re getting the Delafield remodel scheduled to start in January. Over the last 7 years we’ve worked to perform major updates to all of our cafes that have been around for 20+ years. Delafield is the last one we need to tackle! However, even as we’re excited to get this done, we continue to look across our cafe group for things we need to update and improve to keep our spaces beautiful.
- The starting wage for Production & Bakery is moving from $15 to $16/hr effective December 9th.
- We have instituted minimum wage thresholds for cafe team members by tenure to help manage raises better in the retail group. Those will be sent out again in the employee newsletter.
Finally, I’m headed to Colombia in a little over a week to dive deeper into our coffee sourcing. Over eight days, I’ll be taking seven flights, meeting with producers, and exploring every facet of our sourcing process. This trip is all about ensuring that the quality and integrity of the beans we serve align with our shared mission. I’m looking forward to bringing back insights and perhaps a few stories to keep inspiring the incredible work we all do to serve our customers.
I know it’s very busy across the company right now. Be sure to communicate your shift experiences with your team leader so we can continue to improve how we staff and schedule around the holidays and into the new year. It’s a very important season for us. I appreciate you all and your hard work very much!
On we go,
