I hope everyone is having a great week. I have been enjoying the lovely weather while sipping a cortado with our new Peaberry espresso.
Here are some updates on the larger projects we have moving in the coming days. It’s shaping up to be a busy spring/summer at SCC.
Gift Card Give Back:
This tri-annual promotion starts this Sunday. This has long been a unique-to-Stone-Creek promotion that many of our regular customers love. It’s an opportunity for us to reward our regular customers, and to convert other customers to regulars. The last couple of GCGB’s we’ve done have been very successful thanks mostly to the performance of our cafe teams. Please make sure you’re well-prepared for this round of the promo. Have fun sharing this deal with our customers.
Shorewood Remodel:
We are finalizing our budget and build schedule for our summer Shorewood cafe remodel. We are currently planning to close the store June 6th – July 1st to complete this work. These dates are still tentative as we work with our contractors, millwork company, and other vendors to be sure we can execute the project in this timeframe. This project is extensive with a full demolition of the cafe including reworking of the floors, painting, new seating, and a full service area rebuild. The cafe will be amazing and we are excited to finalize the schedule and get started. The Shorewood staff will be working in other cafes keeping their hours while supporting other cafes and teams.
Employee Satisfaction Survey – Coming Soon: Please see this note from Hailey.
Multiple times throughout the year we reach out and ask for your feedback regarding a plethora of subjects, and then we use your feedback to help us Never Stop Learning. On Monday, May 2nd, Teams & People will send out our biyearly Employee Satisfaction Survey. Through your anonymous responses to these surveys we are able to gauge the perspectives of our employees on how well we are doing as a company and employer. Both the detailed #SpeakUps and #HeroShoutOuts you provide in this survey and the aggregate score give us tremendous guidance and an objective picture of how well we engage with our team members.
It’s important that we get a high volume of participation in these surveys in order to gain the most accurate data. Of course, we love hearing what you think is going well. Moreover, if there is something you want to see improved, please share it.
Once it launches, this survey will run for two weeks. Team Leaders, please take a moment in your upcoming administrative time to add reminders about this survey in team communication and team schedules.

New Coffees – Coming Soon
I hope everyone is loving the new Peaberry PNG – New Guinea! Last week I had a cortado with this coffee and it was sweet, clean and extra juicy – I loved it (shout-out to Olivia at the factory for her lovely art – see pic above). I am excited about the coffees we have planned in the coming months. See list below – lots of great Reserve and Small Batch Coffees coming soon.

We have recently finished cupping table after table of Ethiopians. We purchased three stellar lots and will be rolling them out over the summer and early fall with the first ones launching June 23rd.
Customer Referral Program
We’ve been working on a system that will allow customers to invite their friends and family to experience Stone Creek Coffee through web orders or by visiting a retail cafe. The way this will work is a customer can share a special code with their peeps who will receive a 25% off coupon that will work in our cafes and on our website. If their friends/family order then they also get a 25% coupon as a reward. Originally, we thought this program might only be used for online orders, but we believe it’ll be better for our customers if we can get it to work with our Square POS too. We’re working to iron out the final pieces of this program, then we’ll begin to train up the retail team so we can implement it in May.
