Friday the 13th Cupping... -

As you may or may not know, today is Friday the 13th! Here at the Stone
Creek Factory, we did experience something out of the ordinary, an all girl
cupping (excluding
Stephen Bybee the Master Roaster). What an event it was! A fellow Stone
Creek alumna, Kendra Barron brought her crew from Marquette University over for
their first coffee cupping. Poor Stephen being the only male among a rowdy bunch
of ladies sipping coffee, delivered an excellent cupping of coffees from Africa.

Shannon and Lisa fully enjoying the fragrance portion of the cupping.
After smelling, tasting and grading the
coffees, we all came to a general consensus that the third coffee we cupped was
the best. This coffee was from a close neighbor of Africa; Yemen. This crop of
coffee was a Yemen Mokha, one of the oldest crops of coffee
cultivated in the world! It is grown on terraces cut into the mountains and is
dried on rooftops of houses in this small village of Yemen. This is a highly
prized coffee and we were all very grateful that we were able to try it.
