The following is from an email sent by Stone Creek owner Eric Resh to all of us that work here at the Factory...this is just a reminder that sometimes you need something a little more than coffee to get through the day:
Good Afternoon
I wanted to pass along a fortuitous event that happened to me a few weeks ago&.I was working on some Stone Creek project and finding that while I understood intellectually what I was attempting to do I kept running into problem after problem; to the point that I put my head down on my desk and gave up for a few minutes. Head in hands, I was tired of the battle .
As I lifted my head to continue my work an email rolled into my inbox "bing." I looked at the sender and did not recognize it. So I clicked on the email to review it in my viewing pane&the following email was displayed:
'History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats.'
Bertie C. Forbes
To this day I have no idea where this single, simple email came from. I have printed it and it now hangs above my desk. I share this not in relation to Stone Creek but in relation to each of our desire to live meaningful lives. Whether it is your vocation, your family, your community...it does not matter the endeavor...always remember that amazing things are often accomplished with a blend of intellect, creativity and big dose of will; some days you must lift your head and press on...and to those that press on great things are possible.
I hope this for each of you...find your path and push on.
Eric
