Stone Creek Coffee takes the mantra of "Never Stop Learning" seriously. As a relatively small business, we desire to maintain the expectation of constant self-reinvention. This progressive culture has lead the team to pursue further learning through expansion to Chicago’s north side with our first location expected to open in the spring of 2018.
The newest cafe will be located in a brand-new development at 945 W Belmont Ave in Lakeview. This 2000 sq. ft. space, located next to the Belmont “L” stop, will also house a new learning lab to host training classes for Stone Creek’s baristas and wholesale partners, in addition to public classes for all who are coffee-curious.
Eric Resch, founder and co-owner of Stone Creek Coffee, desires to bring a culture of quality and profound care for the customer to more #coffeegeeks. Stone Creek is pushing against the stereotype of the pretentious specialty coffee roaster by welcoming anyone and everyone to a coffee experience that meets them where they are -- from the coffee rookie to the connoisseur. Having started his career in coffee with Starbucks in Chicago in the early nineties, Eric is eager to bring 25 years of learning back to one of his favorite cities.
According to Melissa Perez, our co-owner, Chicago is the next step in our mission to methodically build a company with sustainable growth. This step is a small part in the company’s overall evolution as we continue to expand in our home market of Milwaukee while looking to bolster our presence throughout the Midwest.
We intend to open three to four additional cafes in Chicago by 2020.
A special thanks to Mitch Goltz of GW Properties and David Metrick of Envision RA for their guidance and support in bringing this project to life.
