Our newest edition to the Factory Reserve line of coffees is a delicious Ethiopian from the Biloya Cooperative in the Yirgacheffe region.
1635 coffee producers belong to the Biloya Cooperative in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia. Ethiopia is generally considered the birthplace of coffee and farmers in this area still use traditional growing practices to create truly unique coffees.
Coffees from the Biloya Cooperative is handpicked and delivered to central washing stations. Unlike many coffees in Ethiopia, this coffee has been fully washed allowing the bright citrus flavors and sweet blueberry notes to come through.
The Biloya Coopeartive is Fair Trade Certified as well as organic. The premiums received due to the cooperatives’ Fair Trade status have been used to build and improve community facilities including the purchase of more than 500 school desks for area children.
