Latte Art, Metaphores, Quotes - 2/8/2011
Posted By:   Kendra Barron

When we poured lattes today Susan noted how the milk moves under the latte art like the earth in a landslide (shoot... forgot cool geology technical term) while Colleen and I discussed the art of socializing (not flirting) through coffee. By the end of the class, and after sipping a lot of the espresso, Susan professed a brilliant quote: "You will feel like you are trying hard enough when you feel like you haven't done enough." I could literally hear her obsession with a perfectly balanced rossetta forming.

Hemingway describes his method to writing as always stopping when there is more work to be done. The same applies to the drive required for this craft. There is a need to return to the work, assess it and make improvements again and again.

"I learned never to empty the well of my writing, but always to stop when there was still something there in the deep part of the well, and let it refill at night from the springs that fed it." -Ernest Hemingway
