Earth Day 2010 is this Thursday! In honor of the holiday, use some of these eco friendly tips to celebrate our dear Mother Earth.  Make sure the check out the posters at all of our retail locations as well! 

- Re-use your mug or cup and get a $0.15 discount at our retail stores.

- Bring in your used Stone Creek Coffee coffee bags and receive great discounts! (a $0.25 discount on ½ pound bags, $0.50 on 1 pound bags, and a $1.00 on 5 pound bags).

- Recycle! Most recycling centers allow the following materials to be recycled: #1-7 plastics, aluminum, steel and tin cans, glass, paper & cardboard. Familiarize yourself with your local recycling program.

- Start a compost pile. Add food scraps and used coffee groups to make an excellent, natural fertilizer for your garden.

- Ride a bike or take advantage of public transportation. Commute via bus, ride share, or bus.

- Use non-toxic or green household cleaners because they do not release toxic chemicals into the air. They are safer for yourself and your family.

- Turn it off! When you are away from home, turn off the lights, television, and other electronic devices. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs- they use ¼ of the electricity of a regular light bulb.

- Shop second hand. You will be amazed at the wonderful things you can find at a thrift or antique store. Many thrift stores are non-profit organizations, so you can also support a good cause.

- Shop local and seasonally! Support your local farmers and utilize the crops that are in season.
