The Majomut Cooperative was founded in 1983 and is comprised of 1700 producers in 29 communities located in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. The founding members began with the goal of improving lives of coffee producers in the community. They have worked towards this goal by instituting training programs, micro-credit financing and women’s programs.

The coffees from Majomut are among the best in Mexico. The 2011 harvest has yielded wonderfully balanced coffee that is sure to please. A sweet, berry-like fragrance will be noted when you first grind the coffee. This is accompanied by a subtle, yet crisp brightness and lingering notes of lemon and pine nuts that will stick with you through the finish.
